Set a country of origin for an ingredient

Learn about selecting a country from the list of officially assigned country codes defined in ISO 3166-1:2020.

Country of Origin

You can only enter one country of origin per ingredient (base material).

This functionality is available only on the Fillet web app.

In the Fillet web app, the list of countries provides the following information for each country:

  1. Country name

This is the translation of the official English name from ISO 3166 into the language you use for the Fillet web app.

  2. Country name (official)

This is the official English name from ISO 3166.

  3. Alpha-2 code

This is the official two-letter country code from ISO 3166.

  4. Numeric code

This is the official three-digit numeric country code from ISO 3166.

A country’s name changes depending on the language being used. The Fillet web app provides a translated name for your convenience. For instance, you may find it difficult to select a country based on its English name or its country code.

For exact matches to ISO 3166 in the Fillet web app, refer to the numeric code, alpha-2 code, or official English country name.
